About the Authors
Dr. Kenneth S. Saladin is Professor of Biology at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, Georgia, where he has taught since 1977. Dr. Saladin teaches human anatomy and physiology, histology, animal behavior, introductory medical physiology, and natural history of the Galápagos Islands. He has also previously taught general zoology, introductory biology, sociobiology, biomedical etymology and parasitology. Saladin is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Human Anatomy and Physiology Society, American Association of Anatomists, Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology, and the American Physiological Society. He is the author of the best-selling textbooks Anatomy & Physiology: The Unity of Form and Function and Human Anatomy. Dr. Saladin and his wife Ms Diane have 2 adult children together.
Professor Robin McFarland
Professor Robin McFarland has taught anatomy and physiology at Cabrillo College in Aptos, California since 1998. She earned a Ph.D. in physical (biological) anthropology from the University of Washington, where she studied the relationship between reproduction and body fat in primates. Dr. McFarland also collaborates on studies of ape anatomy with Adrienne Zihlman at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She is a member of the American Association of Anatomists, Human Anatomy and Physiology Society, and American Association of Physical Anthropologists. Professor McFarland was also contributing author to Human Anatomy, 2nd edition, by Ken Saladin (this book). She and her husband Jeff have 2 children, Madeleine and Reid. Dr. Robin enjoys climbing mountains and hiking with her family.
